 The most well known area of the University District is the 'Ave' (actually University Way), a smorgasbord of ethnic eats and hip, street-wise shops. As one moves southwest towards the University, more multi-family units are found. Single-family houses are found in more abundance to the north. Community events are, quite obviously, driven by the University of Washington campus. The University Street Fair, Greek Week and the opening day of boating season are all held in May; University sporting events are also very popular-such as U.W. Husky football in the fall. |
